Class of ‘08

Hi LP Members,

Hard to believe it’s August already and our summer days are winding down. We are looking forward to a great year ahead!

As a result of a very successful recruiting effort for LP and the YLP Programs, we are pleased to bring you this year’s class announcements in this issue. We have a dynamic, accomplished class this year. The downside of this kind of success is we have to disappoint more than a few. We do, however, encourage those who did not make this year’s class to consider applying again this next class year. Thanks to everyone who sponsored and encouraged candidates to apply for membership in the Class of 2019 and the YLP Class of 2019. We look forward to this new class year with great anticipation and high expectations for both. A special thank you again to our Selection Committee, all our greeters, and our interview host Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns LLP.

This year should be another outstanding experience for our new class and Alumni. Beginning with the opening retreat headed up by the most capable, Felicia Donnelly’05, along with Andrea Henning ’15 and Dev Pathik ’11 doing an amazing job teaching the 5 Levels of Leadership model along with Strengths Based Leadership training. The Class will have accountability partners and Leadership mentors to enhance their experience throughout the year, Bob Childress ‘11 and Darrin Johnson ‘14 are leading the revamping our retreat skits and the improved Alumni / Class Social. This year our goal is to make it more interactive and engaging for everyone so we will be having heavy hor d’oeuvres, Alumni Bingo, Photo Booth for Class Reunion photos and more from 6-9 p.m. at the Safety Harbor Spa so please save the date and join us and the new class on Friday, August 24.

Seema Ramroop ’16 is working diligently with her capable alumni planning committees developing exciting plans for our all our 10 program days. Brian Siracusa ’14 is also busy planning for the YLP program days as well. There are still opportunities to help out on program days for LP and YLP so please reach out to the Program Chairs to get involved.

We have lots of great things planned already for this year as you can see listed in this issue so please save the dates and If you haven’t renewed your dues yet it’s easy and simple to do online by clicking here. There’s still time to become a sponsor too.

The LP Board continues to be working hard for and listening to our members. Based on your feedback we’ve implemented two requested improvements to the Leader Reader. A big thank you to Joyce Frustaci ’15 and her team because now you can physically print out each month’s Leader Reader. The other improvement is that the Leader Reader is now in the “News” drop-down menu on our website so that you can find all the past issues easily. In addition, the LP Board approved now holding our LP Board meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the month versus the first to facilitate better financial reporting and decision making.

The year ahead provides many great opportunities for Leadership Pinellas. It’s success relies on you, it’s members. I encourage you all to become involved in one way or another. Remember, if you’ve been busy and not had much time to interact with LP, you’re always welcome to reconnect at any time. Come meet some new friends and enjoy familiar faces! If you are interested in becoming involved and not sure how, call me (727-710-8035), I will find a way that you can help contribute to our success.

In your service,
Cyndee Haydon ‘08
