President’s Message Nov. 2017

Georgie S. Menke ’09
President

Greetings! We have had quite an interesting few months … Irma delayed the class of 2018’s first program day, but that didn’t stop us! We doubled downed in October! Arts and Culture day started and ended at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday. Thank you, Steve Weinberger and Gary Hallas for being such gracious hosts.

Human Services Day went off without a hitch. Brian Siracusa and his team did a great job and lucked out with the weather! It was gorgeous! Nov. 8, 2017, will be Health Day. Please come out and join the class and some of your old pals at the first social of the year! It will be at Spectrum Field, located off Drew Street and US 19, in the suites at approximately 5:30 p.m. We have our holiday party on Dec. 8 at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center at 6:30 pm. Matt Campbell, Leslie DiPaci, and Deb Pauley have planned some very exciting events. Keep a lookout for those dates on our website.

We do have some VERY exciting news … The Board of Directors of Leadership Pinellas voted to enter into a temporary agreement to partner with the YMCA on our Youth Leadership program. Leadership Pinellas will maintain full control of programming and key aspects of the program. Program days will stay the same. Nancy St. Arnold will continue as our YLP Program Chairwoman. As the program changes and grows, we will keep you updated. LP has partnered with the YMCA in the past and we look forward to this mutually beneficial partnership moving forward!

Check out these upcoming events!
