Board Member of the Month: Stephanie Smith

Stephanie Smith ’09
Treasurer

Stephanie is the senior audit manager at CBIZ MHM Tampa Bay and an alum of Lewis, Birch, and Ricardo, CPAs. She has spent her 18-year career as a CPA working almost exclusively with non-profits. She graduated from USF (Go Bulls!) with both her BA and Master’s degrees in accounting.

She is a graduate of the Class of 2009 and had the unfortunate (sarcasm) experience of having Georgie Menke as her roommate. Stephanie served on the selection committee for the 2015 and 2016 class and was the selection committee chair for the 2017 class. She serves as the treasurer for the Homeless Empowerment Project (HEP) and is on the board of PACE Center for Girls – Pinellas. Stephanie is also the past chair of the grant committee of Plus One, Inc., a women’s philanthropy group. She has been a member of the Krewe of Agustina for more than 10 years and is a veteran float rider and sometimes parade walker.

She is a proud dog mom of two rescues, Izzy and Raider. Three things that you may not know: she hates eggs and that’s putting it mildly, she was born at Morton Plant Hospital, and her name was spelled wrong on her birth certificate and had to be legally changed.
