Class of 2018 Gives Back – Again!

Cyndee Haydon
President Elect
Class of ‘08

I’m happy to report that this year’s LP class held their first class project in January at Hamburger Mary’s, led by Kevin Kenney. It was sold out and raised $3,360 for the Beth Dillinger Foundation and their Nourish to Flourish program. Thanks to all the LP Alumni that supported them. We had fun for a good cause and it was great seeing everyone there. Their next class project will be a hands on “Class Working Social” after their March 14 Program Day at RCS, led by Tamara Black. Then, the whole class is involved in planning an exciting Golf Tournament on May 19 led by Chris Manios. Please save the date as more details will be coming. They plan to have events for golfers and non-golfers alike. Please be thinking now about the golfers and fun people you know inside and outside of LP who can join them as participants or sponsors of the event. Seema Ramroop and I have enjoyed working with this year’s class members and have been inspired by the enthusiasm of these leaders to impact hunger in our community.

Seema and I have also been leading the efforts for recruiting the Leadership Pinellas Classes of 2019. Our recruitment social for YLP is Feb 13 from 6-7 p.m. and the two LP recruitment socials have been scheduled for March 20 from 5:30-7 p.m. and April 3 from 7:30-9 a.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Please be thinking of who you know that would make a great member of the Class of 2019. Please save the date to attend yourself, start inviting people, and help us spread the word. The YLP application is available here and the LP application will be available here soon. Currently, you can submit the contact information of anyone you want to make sure gets invited.
