YLP Environment and Infrastructure Day

Nancy St. Arnold ’13
Program Chairwoman

The class started the day at the Pinellas County Public Works Building and saw how traffic is monitored throughout the county and how the trucks are used to keep all county highways clean and free of debris.

They then ventured to South Cross Reclamation to learn about wastewater treatment and water conservation.

At Weedon Island, they toured the museum and took a nature walk through the preserve.

Lunch was provided by Broadline Components.

The next stop was at Pinellas County Solid Waste.

There is a continued collection of items for our projects to serve the community including peanut butter, oatmeal, tuna fish, and canned chicken for the Homeless Emergency Project.

Special thanks to the class day committee: Hal Ziecheck, ‘91 and Jan Tracy, ’96.
