Dear LP Alumni & Class Members,
First and foremost, congratulations are in order for the newly elected officers and directors for 2017-2018. See the post below for the names and positions. We are happy to have new faces and new ideas on the board!
Springtime means full throttle ahead for Leadership Pinellas. We have something for everyone going on right now.
For the public, we are in the midst of working toward the next Leadership Pinellas class, and our application period is now closed for the Class of 2018. Thanks to all who encouraged friends, family and colleagues to apply.
Youth Leadership Pinellas will wrap up their year with graduation on May 3 at Island Way Grill. We’re excited about the students from schools around the county graduating from our YLP program this year. The YLP Class of 2018 is being selected now. More than 60 students from Pinellas County have applied, making it the biggest turnout in YLP history.
The adult LP class had a great Tallahassee trip last month and also completed the very first Emergency Services Day. One more program day to go!
And, of course, don’t forget May 20! Leadership Pinellas is celebrating 40 years of leadership in our community with our Graduation and 40th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 20 from 6-11 p.m. The event will be held at the Central Arts Performing Arts Center (formally known as the Largo Cultural Center) and will feature dinner and a seven-piece band for your entertainment. The evening will recognize the Class of 2017 along with other milestones throughout our 40-year history. This is a celebration not to be missed. Details and registration are available on our website.
It’s that time of year to renew your dues with Leadership Pinellas. In the past couple of years, we have introduced new programs and social opportunities for our members. There are more opportunities for alumni to get involved and reconnect with classmates and other alumni. Access to the online directory will become available through your membership. And, renewal by July 1 will ensure your listing in the annual printed directory. Renewal is easy though the website or download the invoice to pay by check.
Whew. This will certainly be a busy few weeks. I hope to see you at one, more or ALL of the events we have lined up!
